Finally! We're up and running!

Welcome!

After much, much waiting (I'd like to say patiently, but that wouldn't be exactly true), we finally have our agendas! That means that from now on, you can expect homework from Mondays through Thursdays. Please remember to check it every day.


So, to get the ball rolling, this is our first Words of the Week list:

Homework today is to copy the words in the spelling notebook (4 times) and to do Raz-Kids.



For those of you who are new to Raz-Kids, here is a detailed explanation:

• Click here to go to log into Raz-Kids.
• The username is ecarrero. You can find your child's password pasted on the agenda on today's date.
• Click on the planet labeled Your Assignment. This will take you into the main library. Everyone is going to start in level aa and we'll move up from there. Every book here has two tasks (you can see the icons underneath each book cover): one is to listen to the story and the other one is to read the story. Your child needs to complete both tasks for each assignment to be completed. Your child does not need to read the books in order. You can pick any book that tickles your fancy as long as it's the appropriate level (aa), after all, s/he will need to read them all in order to move on to the next level (Level A).
  After you go into Your Assignment for the first time, a new "planet" labeled On Your Own Book Room will appear. You will be able to find all the appropriate-level books here as well. 

In the classroom I have already shown the children how to log into Raz-Kids and how it works. Hopefully, they will be able to guide you through the process, but let me know if you run into any problems.

LIBRARY

We will be visiting the school's library every Tuesday and the children will be able to take a book home for a week. Tomorrow is library day, so if you haven't sent the book your child took out last week, remember it is due tomorrow.
